The presentation page of one of mother’s bibles; presented
to her by her Sunday School Class at New Chapel Baptist Church. The first
person signing is her mother, my grandmother Maggie Waller. Also signing is
mom’s sister, Mrs. H L Morehouse (Iris Waller). These signatures indicate the
date would have to be about 1950. Some of the other women were childhood
friends of my mother, or members of families that have been church members
since the founding of the church. Notice that some of the women use their husband’s
name, as in “Mrs Robert Litchford” while others use their own name, as in “Mrs
Maggie Waller”.
