FALL FOLIAGE
Here are pictures of our yard for fall 2004. Fall plants produce seeds that get distributed in various ways.
These are dogwood berries. Birds eat them and carry them to new locations.
Lopseeds have stickers on their ends and will stick to clothing and animal fur to be transported long distances.
Poke Berries are eaten by birds or can be used to make wine. The leaves can be cooked and eaten as greens in the spring.
These seed have sharp barbs on their ends which will easily stick to fur and clothing.
The wind carries these fluffs long distances bearing the seeds at the end.
