FALL FOLIAGE Page 4
Margaret is standing beside a weed twice as tall as she is. In the upper right corner of the picture are yellow blooms. To the lower left are some red blooms. The weed has seeds with white fluff on them so the wind can distribute them.
A clutch of mushrooms.
A plant whose pollen causes hay fever. It is like the Goldenrod.
The mature bloom of an unknown shrub. There seems to be a red seed within the bloom.
This is the seed head of the Voodoo plant. There are dozens of red seeds on a stalk about 6 inches tall. Some have fell off. You can see the spring and summer voodoo plant on those pages.
This yellow daisy-like flower blooms the first week of fall. The blooms are two to three inches in diameter. What is unusual is that the plants are from eight to ten feet tall. The plants grow from tubers, like sweet potato plants. And the plants need to be transplanted about every five years by moving the tubers; otherwise they seem to shrink and die out.
