Beef and Red Gravy

Margaret has been cooking very seldom. Usually, I cook breakfast, we get Meals-on-Wheels for lunch, and we eat out or eat TV dinners for our last meal. Margaret drinks a liquid meal many times for her last meal.

One of Margaret's standard meals is beef and red gravy. Here she rolls the ground beef into balls and shapes them into small patties. She will add a lot of chopped onion before cooking them. Then she adds a can of V8 or tomato juice and flour in water to make  the gravy. Margaret can't pose for a picture while she is working.

The menu is: beef and red gravy, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. The mashed potatoes have margarine only, no milk, since the gravy will be used to cover and thin the potatoes. The Christmas centerpiece is still on the table. Margaret likes to keep it as long as possible, taking out the roses and carnations as they wilt.

I helped myself to a first plate of the potatoes, beef, gravy, and corn on the cob. Then I ate another plate of beef and potatoes.
