School Steps (page 2)
I used these steps to get up to the Jones School each day when I was in the 2nd through 4th grades. The school has been replaced with a recreation center. The steps are on Monroe Street near 16th Street.
After I left Jones School I attended Frank Roane School on the corner of Federal and 9th Streets. I was a School Patrol Boy and stood twice a day at the intersection of Federal and 10th Streets. These steps let 9th Street down to Harrison Street, they are behind the school.
These steps led up to Biggers School at the corner of 5th and Clay Streets in downtown Lynchburg. The school is gone and Biggers public park is now on the lot.
