Letter Home From a Serviceman in France, What KIA Means.

June Waller Chewning

Letter that Claude wrote home to his sister Iva Waller. I have a violin that I got from Uncle Raymond but I don’t think it belonged to Claude. A serviceman can find “… nothing to write about over here…”

Author

Grave marker of Claude Bailey in the Bailey family cemetery. At the top is the emblem for his service unit. Claude actually entered France on June 7, the day after D-Day, and he died exactly a week after D-Day.
