Steppe and Jordan Home and Cemetery

Edmund/Edward L Steppe once owned this old home. It came
into the Frank Jordan/ Maggie Steppe Family and their daughters Nellie and
Maggie live there still, year 2001.

The family cemetery is at the edge of the field on the
property line. The house is in the background to the right of the central
shrub. Several graves are marked with stones. I would guess that Joseph Stepp
and Sallie Stepp (his wife?) are buried here, and maybe James Stepp and wife
Martha Liston are here too.

I believe this marker is for Edmund L Steppe and that Edward
is a mistake. Many Confederate Veteran grave markers carry only a record of
their CSA service; as if there were nothing of further importance to record for
posterity. His will was recorded 27 July 1911.
