Bailey Homes and Cemetery
Allen German Bailey died in the Civil War. His lands
eventually passed on to his son John Pleasant Bailey. When John P died the land
eventually went to his children. Two sons, John L and Oscar eventually ended up
splitting the farm between them. John built his own house and Oscar lived in
the old house until he built his own.

Bud (Oscar) Bailey’s home. It looks about the same as when
it was built.

John Bailey’s home. The front has been remodeled. There was
a one-story porch extending the width of the house and the yard was surrounded
by a white picket fence.

The family cemetery lies on the dividing line between the
lands of John and Bud. John’s home is in the grove of trees in the distance
behind the cemetery. Bud’s home is to the back of the photographer at the same
distance. The old home site is to the left about halfway to the bottom of the
hill where the spring was.
