MARGARET'S PARENTS
Margaret can not explain this photo of her mother, Alpha Marian Thompson Thacker. Alpha appears to be sitting in a window which opens onto a front porch or a tin roof. She is well dressed with a hat or night cap. There is some sort of clothing hanging over the window sill with a cord extending upward from it. Alpha has recently married and Margaret was born the same year the photo was taken.
This is Margaret's favorite picture of her father. Hunter Brandon Thacker ran Thacker Detective Agency in Lynchburg for many years. And he was a tailor-made clothing salesman, he always dressed up. He was a Grand Exalted Ruler of the Lynchburg Elks Lodge and served as Deputy District Ruler for a time. This is a picture taken on a trip to New York City, all dressed up.
